Hello TTC Team! Firstly, thank you for taking the time to look at my deck! Here I'll explain the deck philosophy. Keeping a precon's budget in mind, the game plan is simple, play low cost wizards in the early-mid game, then play Gandalf and start slinging spells! I also heavily focused on flavor without sacrificing power, including many many cards from The Hobbit and LOTR! I even included a backup commander in the form of Gandalf of the Secret Fire. To keep the game plan realistic and consistent, I focused on keeping most of the bigger spells around 5-6 mana, so you'd only need 3 wizards on the board to start acquiring your value. Even if you are not cheating higher mana spells, freely casting 3 or 4 mana spells is still very good. The deck has many low-cost wizards so you can consistently build up your board in the early-mid game. Even if your wizards are low-cost, they all still have powerful abilities (usually multiple!) that come into effect in the early and/or late game. Since you will be playing many low-cost creatures, and at least one free spell each turn, I included plenty of card draw to keep your hand filled. The deck has protection to keep Gandalf and your wizard's alive, and removal to slow down threats. Even if Gandalf is removed, the deck has instant/sorcery "ramp" creatures that make those types cheaper to cast, and since they are already not too high of mana cost, you can play them as early as turn 4 or 5 normally without needing Gandalf. Included are finisher spells that can blow out the game. Since you may have a lot of smaller wizards on your field, some of the finishers focus on buffing them up so you can go-wide and swing with them. There are also many ways to buff/pump your wizards before swinging or defending with them. Additionally, a lot of spells in the deck including bouncing or removing opponent's creatures, allowing you to get in for damage. The deck even includes spells that let you draw and discard any larger spells you don't want to cast at that moment, and then the deck also has recursion to then later cast those spells from the graveyard! For the instants and sorceries, I included spells that were interesting, fun, and powerful. Of course, included there are many wizards in the deck that benefit off of casting spells. The land situation is balanced as well, having a healthy amount of mana production for each of the three colors. Traditional generic ramp was not included as it is not needed in this deck.
