Bilbo, Luckwearer // Burglar's Plot

Aug 21, 2026

An Honest Burglar - More or Less... Bilbo Baggins had never thought himself a burglar. He had left his comfortable home with little need for treasure, and still less desire for danger. Yet the road has a curious way of changing such things. From the Trollshaws to the dark beneath the mountains, Bilbo learns that a small thing may prove useful long after greater things have failed. Trinkets are gathered, riddles are answered, and a simple ring becomes a treasure beyond reckoning. And Bilbo himself discovers that there is more to burgling than merely taking what does not belong to you. Burglar's Plot lies at the heart of the deck. The small companions and curious things gathered along the road serve their purpose before being traded for greater treasures. Liquimetal Coating and Liquimetal Torque make even the most unlikely things fit for a bargain, while a Lucky Clover may turn one fortunate exchange into two. Even Bilbo's discarded possessions need not go to waste. Currency Converter turns the things left behind into new opportunities, ready to serve their purpose before becoming part of another bargain. But a burglar who knows how to enter must also know how to leave. Crystal Shard, This Town Ain't Big Enough, Narset's Reversal, and Sanctum of Eternity help Bilbo slip away and begin his adventure anew. Again and again he ventures forth, passing unseen, gathering what he finds, and returning with rather more than he took with him. There are Riddles in the Dark along the way, the Trollshaws to cross, a Great Gilded Boat to board, and, of course, Bilbo's Ring. And when the road has grown long, there is always the Green Dragon Inn waiting at its end. Yet Bilbo's adventures leave their mark. Every tale told and every card drawn feeds Chasm Skulker, Alandra, Sky Dreamer, and the ever-growing Homunculus Horde, until even a company that began with little may become a threat of its own. Bilbo begins his journey with no army, no great weapon, and little treasure to his name. Fortunately, a good burglar need not bring the most valuable things to the table. The other players have done that for him.
