This Rakdos deck focuses on triggering Smaug the Impenetrable through tactical non-combat self-damage. Damage spells like Self-Destruct, Blasphemous Act and Chain Reaction damage Smaug while removing enemy creatures to instantly generate massive piles of Treasure tokens. The deck weaponises this explosive wealth through two primary paths: Artifact Token Output Burn: High-impact triggers from cards like Mirkwood Bats, Reckless Fireweaver, and Marionette Apprentice drain opponents as Treasures enter and leave the battlefield. Power Scaling: Cards like Cranial Plating and Nettlecyst scale directly with your artifact count to turn Smaug or your token-generating engines into lethal, game-ending threats. Cash in your tokens as pure ramp resources to cast your high-cost, high-impact threats ahead of the curve. Cards like Fiendlash, Pain For All, Pariah's Shield, Brash Taunter and Wrathful Red Dragon further exploit Smaug's triggered ability, turning him into an outlet for direct damage.
