Thorin gathers his Company, equips them for the journey, builds the hoard, becomes Storied, and leads the Company back to Erebor. I wanted to build Thorin because he seemed really interesting, and I honestly didn’t see many people building him. Since this is a creativity-focused contest, I figured I might as well give him a shot and build the deck around what makes Thorin and the Company unique. The gameplan is pretty simple: gather the Dwarves, equip them, build up the hoard, and eventually let Thorin lead the charge. The deck has a ton of Dwarves and Equipment to make the Company actually feel like a Company, while cards like Magda help build up the Treasure hoard along the way. I tried to keep the deck around the price and power level of a precon while still making it feel like its own thing. I didn’t just want to make another Boros Equipment deck, I wanted it to actually feel like The Company from The Hobbit!
