"Later that night, while Bilbo lay in bed trying to fall asleep, he could still hear Thorin humming in the next room over: Far over the misty mountains cold To dungeons deep and caverns old We must away, ere break of day, To find our long-forgotten gold." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dwarves gathering treasure, only for dragons to seize it against their will. A classic tale as old as time, but none as grand as the one Bilbo, Thorin and Company lived through the pages of The Hobbit. This deck is a treasure generation deck with a dwarf tribal sub-theme. Dwarves do the hard work to gather treasure, and once you have enough to lure the dragon onto the battlefield, Smaug the Magnificent will strike with fire and fury to claim it all for his own. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Some cards to highlight include Magda, Brazen Outlaw to continuously generate treasure, pump up your dwarves and even tutor a Goldspan Dragon or Desert Were-Wurm into the battlefield, the latter which is a Hobbit set finisher. Dwarven Grunt is another great card in the list due to it's 1 mana cost and Mountainwalk. Whoever has Mountains won't like it, but a lot of the treasure generation comes from connecting attacks, and this will be the best guy to do so. Key to the Side Door let the Dwarves enter The Lonely Mountain, it will also help them attack unharmed. Lastly, The Desolation of Smaug is the perfect card to bring your commander. Devastate with fire, and bring forth the dragon himself pretty much for free. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Price-wise, the most expensive cards actually come from The Hobbit set, although mind some of them should go down once Battle of the Five Armies comes out next year. Given the deck is for this set, we are willing to keep them in the list along with some very flavorful ones.
